Amy Pinner and Linda Cross win 3rd Place in the ASME Undergraduate design competition for rehabilitative devices

Bart Kemper is in Boston to support LSU’s team at the World Congress of Biomechanics.  Led by our former intern Amy Pinner, KES financed this project as part of the LSU Engineering Capstone Design program. The project is one of the top six rehabilitative student projects as selected by ASME.  Bart travelled with Amy Pinner and another team member, Linda Cross (biological engineer) to Boston and helped them develop and practice their presentation for the competition.  Their other team mates had moved onto their post-graduation employment and could not attend the competiton.

On 9 July it was announced that LSU’s project, “Pressure Sore Reducing Device”, was selected by ASME as the 3rd Place project in the national ASME/NSF competition. Congratulations to Amy Pinner, EI and Linda Cross, EI. for their successful presentation and earning this national recognition.  Amy has gone onto work at One Subsea and Linda has gone into medical research.

The team award from the 2014 ASME/NSF contest. KES funded this project and plans to continue it now that the students have graduated, including our own Amy Pinner who has an exciting job at One Subsea.
